Project strands

Our work takes place across four dynamic fronts:

  • collaborative community research
  • creative community hubs
  • family conversations research
  • teacher training workshops

Each of these key project strands is underpinned by our research approach.

Collaborative community research

Intergenerational groups and partner schools develop performances to speak to power and tell stories of communication from their local community.

Creative community hubs

Local community centres in Kenya and Uganda host free arts, sports, and learning activities to fuel expression and connection and to develop skills.

Family dining experiments

Families reconnect over shared meals, offering rare insights into everyday communication between the generations.

Teacher training workshops

Partner schools in Kenya and Uganda have worked with the research team to train members of teaching staff in arts-based approaches for the classroom.
